Our Breeding Practices

Each litter is carefully thought out and planned.  Pairs are selected based on overall improvement of the parents, breeding towards a Standard of Conformation.  We breed with the intent to keep one or two from every litter.  Our girls are bred when they have reached full maturity, between two and three years.  Our Dachshunds will be bred to produce no more than four litters per lifetime, usually less.   All our Dachshunds will be genetically health tested prior to being bred.  In addition we will be having each adult OFA Certified according to availability of clinics at our local shows.

We will very rarely, if ever at all, have adult, "retired" Dachshunds available.  When we bring a Dachshund into our family, it stays, even if it can no longer produce.
