Regardless, I am hoping to see some nice heads, and again tighter shoulders, more depth through the lion and smoothness down to the table.    Something that will be better than mom, and she can move on.

I have been very excited for this line bred litter.  America & Oblivion share the same father, RabbitmafiaQ's Appetite 4 Destruction a gorgeous blue fawn Japanese with the most amazing head, shoulders and top line.  America seems to out do herself with every litter, and Oblivion is kicking butt on the tables.  It seemed obvious that this would be a good pairing of solid to broken to seal in those amazing genetics not only from their shared father, but from the mothers as well.  Oblivion's mama goes back to my CH. BHMB Eternally Yours who is an offspring from a outcross doe I obtained from my good friend Chris Mackprang, Ch. Mack's Ruby.  Unfortunately Ruby died unexpectedly while her kits were still young, and they were fostered off.

In this litter from America, she gave us a grand total of nine babies to begin with!  That's a lot to handle!  The next day, Ch. BHMB Lorelei had her kits, but sadly lost 3 of the 4.  Leaving her with a single baby to raise.  To help even the playing field, I gave Lorelei a few kids from America.

The above photos are the three currently being raised by Lorelei.  At first, I thought the tri color was just another Japanese as it was marked so heavily.  

Unfortunately the dividing of the litter to level the playing field was useless, for America anyways.  Sadly within the first week, she ended up loosing four of the six remaining kits, leaving her with two babies to raise.

One of the main reasons I choose to breed several does at one time, is to have that foster if needed.  Mini Lops are great moms, and equally great fosters.  To ensure the healthiest of litters I feel its important to make sure not to overload your does.  If you have the option available, then you should take it.  Nine was a lot, and even though we still lost four of the nine, we could have possibly lost even more had it not been for me giving some to Lorelei.
Additionally, allowing Lorelei to raise a single baby increases the chances of over feeding which could cause further issues like bloat, or splay leg.
As it turns out with this particular litter, the kits given to Lorelei are smaller than the ones who remained with America.  And unfortunately, one of the two that remained with America did in fact get Splay Leg.
However, from America & Oblivion there are two showables at this time.  One Tri raised by Lorelei and one broken Orange that remained with America. I am excited to see how they grow and mature.

It is so hard to keep up with this blog as the litters grow.  Between bunnies and puppies, they all grow so fast!  Sometimes it's a lot easier to simply update the Facebook page.

I can't believe two weeks have flown by so quickly!  The girls have their eyes open, and I am sure the boy will be soon to follow.  They are gaining and growing so fast! The coloring, shading seems different yet the same every time I look at them!
