Generations

Shamus was born the evening my family and I were at a concert for Faster Pussycat.  His BHMB history begins on his Mom's side, to Grandma & Great Grandma.  The rest of his three generation pedigree is RabbitmafiaQ, HillTop's & VTs.  Shamus' lineage goes back to the great CH. GML Ride The Lightning, Smokey's Vortex and Velotta's Wyatt Earp.  We can trace him back about 12 generations through his Dam's side.  Other lines he carries include Desurras, Boondox and Hare & Now.

Behind The Name​

Released in 1989 on the Album Wake Me When It's Over, Crying Shame by Faster Pussycat
"Cryin' Shame," also written by the Downe/Steele team could likewise be classified as a ballad, although its gruesome storyline sets it way outside standard ballad territory.

"To me, 'Cryin' Shame' isn't a ballad," says Brent. "It's a very scary song. It's a true story. Taime and Greg read this book called Say You Love Satan." (Written by David St. Clair, the book chronicles the grisly murder of a teenager by his friends.) 

"I didn't read it," Brent continues. "I'm not really into that kind of stuff. But they were like, 'Wow!' It was really shocking to them. How could these kids kill another kid? It's kind of written from the point of view of the kid who died. What was he thinking about?"

Fun Fact:

The night this particular litter was born, I had taken my youngest daughters and their significant others to a concert that evening.  That concert just so happens to been headlined by Faster Pussycat, a band that I adored in my teenage rebellious years (okay, so I still listen to them here and there.....and yes, I still might be a bit rebellious)  I had checked on the does due prior to leaving that evening, and when I returned, there was this amazing litter full of fat wiggly lops and lots of color.  So, of course every single baby in that litter was named after a Faster Pussycat Song!
